Various personal data is collected when you use this website. Personal data is data that can be used to identify you personally. This privacy policy explains what data we collect and what we use it for. It also explains how and for what purpose this is done.

We would like to point out that data transmission on the Internet (e.g. when communicating by e-mail) may have security gaps. Complete protection of the data against access by third parties is not possible.

Duration of storage

Unless a more specific storage period is specified in this privacy policy, your personal data will remain with us until the purpose for data processing ceases to apply. If you assert a legitimate request for deletion or withdraw consent to data processing, your data will be deleted unless we have other legally permissible reasons for storing your personal data (e.g. retention periods under tax or commercial law); in the latter case, deletion takes place after these reasons have ceased.

General information on the legal basis for data processing on this website

If you have consented to data processing, we process your personal data on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 litre. a GDPR or Art. 9 para. 2 lit. a GDPR, insofar as special data categories pursuant to Art. 9 para. 1 GDPR must be processed. Note on data transfer to the USA and other third countries

Among other things, we use tools from companies based in the USA or other third countries that are not secure under data protection law. When these tools are active, your personal data may be transferred to and processed in these third countries. We would like to point out that a level of data protection comparable to the EU cannot be guaranteed in these countries. For example, US companies are required to disclose personal data to security authorities without you being able to take legal action against them as a data subject. It cannot therefore be excluded that US authorities (e.g. intelligence services) process, evaluate and permanently store your data on US servers for monitoring purposes. We have no influence over these processing activities.

Withdrawing your consent to data processing

Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You can revoke your consent at any time. The lawfulness of the data processing carried out until revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

Right to object to data collection in special cases and to direct marketing (Art. 21 GDPR)

If the data processing is based on Art. 6 para. 1 litre. E or F GDPR, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data at any time for reasons arising from your particular situation; this also applies to profiling based on these provisions. The respective legal basis on which processing is based can be found in this privacy policy. If you object, we will no longer process your personal data unless we can prove compelling legitimate grounds for processing that override your interests, rights and freedoms or the processing serves the assertion, exercise or defence of legal claims (objection pursuant to Art. 21 para. 1 GDPR).

If your personal data is processed for the purpose of direct marketing, you have the right to object at any time to the processing of personal data concerning you for the purpose of such marketing, including profiling insofar as it is related to such direct marketing. If you object, your personal data will then no longer be used for direct marketing purposes (objection pursuant to Art. 21 para. 2 GDPR).

Right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority

In the event of breaches of the GDPR, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of their habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged breach. The right to appeal shall be without prejudice to other administrative or judicial remedies.

Right to data portability

You have the right to have data that we process automatically based on your consent or in fulfilment of a contract handed over to you or to a third party in a commonly used, machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only take place to the extent that it is technically feasible.

Access, rectification and deletion

Within the framework of the applicable legal provisions, you have the right to obtain information free of charge about your stored personal data, its origin and recipient and the purpose of data processing and, if applicable, a right to rectification or erasure of this data. You can contact us at any time if you have any further questions about personal data.

Right to restriction of processing

You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. Please do not hesitate to contact us. The right to restrict processing exists in the following cases:

  • If you dispute the accuracy of your personal data stored by us, we usually need time to verify this. For the duration of the audit, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
  • If the processing of your personal data was/is unlawful, you can request the restriction of processing instead of deletion.
  • If we no longer need your personal data, but you need it to exercise, defend or assert legal claims, you have the right to request the restriction of processing of your personal data instead of deletion.
  • If you submit an objection pursuant to Art. 21 para. 1 GDPR, a balance must be made between your and our interests. As long as it has not been determined whose interests override, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.

If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, these data may - apart from their storage - only be processed with your consent or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of important public interest of the European Union or a Member State.

SSL or TLS encryption

This site uses SSL or TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or requests you send to us as the site operator. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser bar.

If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you send to us cannot be read by third parties.

Encrypted payments on this website

If there is an obligation to provide us with your payment data (e.g. account number for direct debit authorisation) after concluding a chargeable contract, this data is required for payment processing.

Payment transactions via the usual means of payment (Visa/MasterCard, direct debit) are carried out exclusively via an encrypted SSL or TLS connection. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser bar.

In the case of encrypted communication, your payment data that you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

Objection to promotional emails

The use of contact data published within the scope of the legal notice obligation for the sending of advertising and information materials not expressly requested is hereby objected to. The operators of the pages expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of the unsolicited sending of advertising information, for example through spam e-mails.

4. Data collection on this website

Cookie information

Our websites use so-called “cookies”. Cookies are small data packages and do no harm to your end device. They are stored either temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (permanent cookies) on your end device. Session cookies are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Permanent cookies remain stored on your end device until you delete them yourself or your web browser automatically deletes them.

Cookies can come from us (first-party cookies) or from third parties (so-called third-party cookies). Third-party cookies enable the integration of certain services of third-party companies within websites (e.g. cookies for processing payment services).

Cookies have different functions. Many cookies are technically necessary because certain website functions would not work without them (e.g. the shopping cart function or the display of videos). Other cookies may be used to evaluate user behaviour or for advertising purposes.

Cookies that are necessary to carry out the electronic communication process, to provide certain functions you want (e.g. for the shopping cart function) or to optimise the website (e.g. cookies for measuring the web audience) (necessary cookies) are used on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 litre. f GDPR, unless a different legal basis is specified. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing cookies that are necessary for the technically flawless and optimised provision of its services. If consent to the storage of cookies and comparable recognition technologies has been requested, the processing takes place exclusively on the basis of this consent (Art. 6 para. 1 litre. a GDPR and Section 25 para. 1 TTDSG); consent can be revoked at any time.

You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or generally and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be limited.

You can find out which cookies and services are used on this website in this privacy policy.

CCM19

Our website uses CCM19 to obtain your consent to the storage of certain cookies on your end device or to the use of certain technologies and to document this in accordance with data protection regulations. The provider of this technology is Papoo Software & Media GmbH, Auguststr. 4, 53229 Bonn (hereinafter referred to as “CCM19”).

When you access our website, a connection is made to the servers of CCM19 in order to obtain your consents and other declarations regarding the use of cookies. CCM19 then stores a cookie in your browser in order to be able to assign the consents given to you or their withdrawal. The data collected in this way is stored until you request us to delete it, delete the CCM19 cookie itself or the purpose for storing the data ceases to apply. Mandatory statutory retention obligations remain unaffected.

CCM19 is used to obtain the legally required consents for the use of cookies. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. c GDPR.

Processing of orders

We have concluded a contract for order processing (CPA) for the use of the above-mentioned service. This is a data protection agreement that guarantees that it processes the personal data of our website visitors only according to our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.

Server log files

The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are as follows:

  • Browser type and browser version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Host name of the accessing computer
  • Time of server request
  • IP-Address

This data will not be merged with other data sources.

This data is collected on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimization of its website - for this purpose, the server log files must be recorded.

Contact us form

If you send us inquiries via the contact form, your details from the inquiry form, including the contact details you provide there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the inquiry and in the event of follow-up questions. We do not pass on this data without your consent.

This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 litre. b GDPR, insofar as your request is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary for the performance of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, the processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective processing of the enquiries addressed to us (Art. 6 para. 1 litre. f GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 litre. a GDPR) if this has been requested; consent can be revoked at any time.

The data you enter in the contact form will remain with us until you request us to delete it, withdraw your consent to storage or the purpose for data storage ceases to apply (e.g. after your request has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions - in particular retention periods - remain unaffected.

Request by e-mail, telephone or fax

If you contact us by e-mail, telephone or fax, your request, including all resulting personal data (name, request), will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of processing your request.

The data you send us via contact requests will remain with us until you request us to delete them, withdraw your consent to storage or the purpose for data storage ceases to apply (e.g. after your request has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions - in particular statutory retention periods - remain unaffected.

In the event of important changes to the scope of the offer or technically necessary changes, we will use the e-mail address provided during registration to inform you in this way.

The data entered during registration is processed for the purpose of carrying out the usage relationship established by the registration and, if necessary, for the initiation of further contracts (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR).

The data collected during registration is stored by us for as long as you are registered on this website and is then deleted. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.

5. Social media

Facebook

Elements of the social network Facebook are integrated on this website. The provider of this service is Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland. However, according to Facebook, the data collected will also be transferred to the USA and other third countries.

An overview of the Facebook social media elements can be found here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/?locale=de_DE.

If the social media element is active, a direct connection is established between your end device and the Facebook server. Facebook receives the information that you have visited this website with your IP address. If you click on the Facebook “Like” button while you are logged into your Facebook account, you can link the content of this website to your Facebook profile. This enables Facebook to assign the visit to this website to your user account. We would like to point out that as the provider of the pages, we are not aware of the content of the transmitted data or its use by Facebook. Further information on this can be found in Facebook’s privacy policy at: https://de-de.facebook.com/privacy/explanation.

If consent has been obtained, the above-mentioned service is used on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 litre. a GDPR and Section 25 TTDSG. Consent can be revoked at any time. Unless consent has been obtained, the use of the service is based on our legitimate interest in as comprehensive visibility in social media as possible.

Insofar as personal data is collected on our website using the tool described here and forwarded to Facebook, we and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland are jointly responsible for this data processing (Art. 26 GDPR). (See the above explanations under “Registration with Facebook Connect” regarding this and data transfer to the USA).

Twitter

Functions of the Twitter service are integrated on this website. These features are provided by Twitter International Company, One Cumberland Place, Fenian Street, Dublin 2, D02 AX07, Ireland.

If the social media element is active, a direct connection is established between your end device and the Twitter server. This allows Twitter to receive information about your visit to this website. By using Twitter and the “Re-Tweet” function, the websites you visit are linked to your Twitter account and disclosed to other users. We would like to point out that as the provider of the pages, we are not aware of the content of the transmitted data or its use by Twitter. Further information can be found in Twitter’s privacy policy at: https://twitter.com/de/privacy.

This social media element transmits log data to the Pinterest server in the USA. This log data may include your IP address, the address of the websites visited, which also contain Pinterest functions, the type and settings of the browser, the date and time of the request, your use of Pinterest and cookies.

6. Analysis tools and advertising

Google analytics

This website uses functions of the Google Analytics web analysis service. The provider is Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Google Analytics enables the website operator to analyse the behaviour of website visitors. The website operator receives various usage data, such as page visits, length of stay, operating systems used and the user’s origin. This data is combined into a user ID and assigned to the respective end device of the website visitor.

Furthermore, we can use Google Analytics to Record your mouse and scroll movements and clicks. Furthermore, Google Analytics uses various modelling approaches to complement the collected data sets and uses machine learning technologies in data analysis.

Google Analytics uses technologies that enable the user to be recognised for the purpose of analysing user behaviour (e.g. cookies or device fingerprinting). The information generated by Google about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

The use of this service is based on your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 litre. a GDPR and Section 25 para. 1 TTDSG. Consent can be revoked at any time.

Data transfer to the USA is based on the EU Commission’s standard contractual clauses. Details can be found here: https://privacy.google.com/businesses/controllerterms/mccs/.

Browser plugin

You can prevent the collection and processing of your data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

More information on how user data is handled by Google Analytics can be found in Google’s privacy policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.

Processing of orders

We have concluded a contract for order processing with Google and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.

Google Analytics e-commerce measurement

This website uses the “e-commerce measurement” function of Google Analytics. With the help of e-commerce measurement, the website operator can analyse the purchasing behaviour of website visitors in order to improve its online marketing campaigns. This includes information such as orders placed, average order values, shipping costs and the time from viewing to purchasing a product. This data can be grouped by Google under a transaction ID that is assigned to the respective user or their device.

Google Ads

The website operator uses Google Ads. Google Ads is an online advertising program of Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Google Ads enables us to display advertisements in the Google search engine or on third-party websites if the user enters certain search terms on Google (keyword targeting). Furthermore, targeted advertising can be displayed based on the user data available at Google (e.g. location data and interests) (target group targeting). As the website operator, we can evaluate this data quantitatively by, for example, analysing which search terms led to the display of our advertisements and how many advertisements led to corresponding clicks.

The use of this service is based on your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 litre. a GDPR and Section 25 para. 1 TTDSG. Consent can be revoked at any time.

Data transfer to the USA is based on the EU Commission’s standard contractual clauses. Details can be found here: https://policies.google.com/privacy/frameworks and https://privacy.google.com/businesses/controllerterms/mccs/.

Google Ads remarketing

This website uses the functions of Google Ads Remarketing. The provider is Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

With Google Ads Remarketing, we can assign individuals who interact with our online offer to certain target groups in order to then display interest-based advertising to them in the Google advertising network (remarketing or retargeting).

Furthermore, the advertising target groups created with Google Ads Remarketing can be linked to the cross-device functions of Google. In this way, interest-based, personalised advertising messages that have been adapted to you depending on your previous usage and surfing behaviour on one end device (e.g. mobile phone) can also be displayed on another of your end devices (e.g. tablet or PC).

If you have a Google account, you can object to personalised advertising at the following link: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/.

The use of this service is based on your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 litre. a GDPR and Section 25 para. 1 TTDSG. Consent can be revoked at any time.

Further information and the data protection provisions can be found in Google’s privacy policy at: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads?hl=de.

Target group formation with customer comparison

Among other things, we use the customer comparison of Google Ads Remarketing to create target groups. In doing so, we transfer certain customer data (e.g. e-mail addresses) from our customer lists to Google. Adobe Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, text files which are stored on your computer and which allow an analysis of your use of the website. If the information generated by the cookie about the use of the website is transmitted to an Adobe server, the settings ensure that the IP address is anonymised before geolocation and replaced by a generic IP address before storage. On behalf of the operator of this website, Adobe will use this information to evaluate the use of the website by users, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services related to website and Internet use to the website operator.

LinkedIn Insight tag

This website uses the LinkedIn Insight tag. The provider of this service is LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company, Wilton Plaza, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland.

Data processing by LinkedIn Insight Tag

The LinkedIn Insight Tag provides us with information about the visitors to our website. If a website visitor is registered with LinkedIn, we can analyse the basic professional data (e.g. career level, company size, country, location, industry and job title) of our website visitors and thus better target our page to the respective target groups. We can also use LinkedIn Insight Tags to measure whether visitors to our websites make a purchase or other action (conversion measurement). Conversion measurement can also be performed across devices (e.g. from PC to tablet). LinkedIn Insight Tag also offers a retargeting function with the help of which we can show visitors to our website targeted advertising outside the website, whereby according to LinkedIn no identification of the advertising recipient takes place.

LinkedIn itself also records so-called log files (URL, referrer URL, IP address, device and browser properties and time of access). The IP addresses are truncated or (if used to reach LinkedIn members across devices) hashed (pseudonymized). LinkedIn members’ direct identifiers are deleted from LinkedIn after seven days. The remaining pseudonymised data will then be deleted within 180 days.

As the website operator, we cannot assign the data collected by LinkedIn to specific individuals. LinkedIn will store the personal data collected from website visitors on its servers in the USA and use it for its own advertising measures. Details can be found in LinkedIn’s privacy policy at https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy#choices-oblig.
